Henri Lavabre Art Deco Platinum & Diamond Bracelet Circa 1930
Platinum & Diamond Art Deco Bracelet; 420 Diamonds approx 27ct; by Henri Lavabre; French; Ca1930
This bracelet was made by the same workshop that created some of the most impressive jewels for Cartier. The workshop of Henri Lavabre, located in Paris, worked exclusively for Cartier until 1921. They continued to work for Cartier well into the 1930’s, making some of the most important jewels of the period, including the 1936 commission of Daisy Fellowes’ “Hindu” or “Tutti Frutti” Necklace. The workshop maintained an important relationship with Cartier. The shop was well-known for their intricate "mechanical" clasps, such as the one featured on this bracelet; it combines impeccable workmanship along with a complex white-on-white design, contrasting round and baguette cut diamonds. It remains as relevant today as it did nearly 100 years ago.
